All four of Alabama linebacker commits were named to the 2019 high school Butkus Award watchlist.
Alabama 2020 commits, Quandarrius Robinson, Drew Sanders, Demouy Kennedy and Jackson Bratton, found their names on the watchlist. The high school Butkus Award is awarded annually to the best high school linebacker in the nation. Georgia linebacker, Nakobe Dean, won the award last season.
The last Alabama player to win the high school Butkus Award is Dylan Moses, who was named to the 2019 college Butkus Award watchlist.
The linebacker position is one of interest for the Tide in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Alabama’s defensive coordinator, Pete Golding, wants to add depth there with some impressive talent. With commitments from four of the best high school linebackers in the nation, Alabama is not done recruiting 2020 linebackers.
Antoine Sampah, Justin Flowe, Phillip Webb, Noah Sewell and B.J. Ojulari, who all also made the HS Butkus Award watchlist, have interest from the Tide.
This watchlist is filled with potential winners. It will be interesting to see, who walks away with the hardwood in December.
