Linebacker Eyabi Anoma No Longer Listed on Alabama’s Roster

via: Touchdown Alabama

If you didn’t believe he was officially gone before, it’s certainly confirmed now. Former Alabama linebacker Eyabi Anoma was officially taken off of the crimson tide’s roster today after he entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal for the second time in 2019.

Anoma’s last couple of months have been interesting, to say the least. First, he entered the portal in February where there was speculation of him returning back home to Baltimore, MD but he only remained in the portal for one day. Afterward, Anoma seemed to be fully committed to the process as he made a big impression on coaches in spring practice. He warranted praise from position coach Sal Sunseri along with head coach Nick Saban.

The former five-star recruit capped off his spring with a solid showing in the A-Day game where he filled in for an injured Terrell Lewis. Anoma was a regular in the backfield and seemed as if he was finally tapping into his true potential.

But everything took a hard left turn in the summer.

Within one week of fall camp, it was reported that Anoma was not enrolled in classes for the upcoming semester making him ineligible for any football activities. Then Touchdown Alabama’s Stephen M Smith reported that Anoma was back in his home state and would not return to the team.

And just two days later Anoma entered his name into the portal and here we all are. A lot can be speculated about the linebackers departure but nothing has been confirmed to be fact. What matters now is that Eyabi Anoma will not be a part of the crimson tide this season which opens the door for other players to step up.
