The Crimson Tide is ranked No. 2 in the preseason Amway Coaches poll.
Clemson took the top spot with 59 of the 65 first-place votes. The Tide received the remaining six first-play votes. Georgia, Oklahoma and Ohio State rounded out the top five.
Six SEC schools were represented in the top 25. LSU came in at No. 6, Florida at No. 8, Texas A&M at No. 11 and Auburn at No 16.
Alabama will kick off the 2019 season in the Chick-fil-A kickoff Classic as they take on the Duke Blue Devils on Aug. 31. The game will be televised on ABC.
