At 6-3 and 185 pounds, Christian Lewis, is a rising star on the gridiron.
Lewis is a product of Pleasant Grove High School in Pleasant Grove, Alabama. The 2021 recruit currently holds offers from Nebraska, Kentucky, Iowa and several other programs. Alabama had Lewis on campus for their home opener against New Mexico State.
The 3-Star recruit said it was a great experience for him and his family.
“I loved it,” Lewis said. “My mom loved it also. It was an awesome experience, being we grew up die-hard Alabama fans.”
Liberty University was the first D1 school to offer Lewis when they extended an offer to him in January. Several schools followed suit as Lewis is a weapon in the pass game. The 2021 recruit can climb the ladder with his great vertical and can catch the ball away from his body.
Unfortunately, Lewis’ sophomore season was cut short due to an injury in the fourth game of the season. After missing an extensive amount of action on last season, Lewis has a new focus on strengthening his mind and body.
“I have been working on my diet, so my body can be in the best shape possible,” Lewis said. “I am also working on my mind, so when I am tired, my performance does not drop. I have spent time getting my teammates to play at the highest level they can play at and put in work on my route running, speed and hand strength.”
Some of Lewis’ hard work has payed off early in the 2019 season as he opened up the year with a solid performance. Lewis had 6 receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns.
Alabama’s staff greeted Lewis with open arms on Saturday and expressed to him they want to evaluate his film from his first couple of games due to him only playing four games last season before they move forward.
With the Tide wanting to keep as much in-state talent at home as possible, Lewis is a name to watch out for.
