Alabama was ranked No. 3 in the first college football playoffs rankings of the season on Tuesday.
Ohio State came in at No. 1. LSU and Penn State rounded out the top four with the Tigers sitting at No. 2 and the Nittany Lions sitting at No. 4. Clemson missed out on the top four and sits at No. 5.
The Tide and the Tigers will be battle it out on Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium for the biggest game of the season. Alabama has won nine straight and LSU is looking to reverse that trend.
Three SEC teams were ranked in the top 6 in Georgia, the Tide and the Tigers.
According to these rankings, Alabama will face another Top 25 team in Auburn later on in the season as the Tigers are ranked No. 11.
