Mac Jones was ready to go in, but Nick Saban stuck with Tua Tagovailoa.
Alabama held a 35-7 lead in the second quarter versus Mississippi State, when the junior quarterback went down with an injury. While it is being reported as a hip issue, Saban will provide confirmation in his postgame presser.
Upon getting hit on a play, Tagovailoa remained on the ground and had the medical staff attend to him.
He would then be carted off the field and according to a report from ESPN, he was taken to a nearby hospital. Members of national media, former Crimson Tide players and concerned fans have voiced their thoughts on social media – regarding Saban’s decision to leave Tagovailoa in the game. After having tightrope surgery to his right ankle, following the Tennessee game, he returned 20 days later to play against LSU.
As we await updates from Saban, stay tuned to tdalabamamag.com for all news on Tagovailoa.
