Alabama and Auburn are set to square off in one of the biggest college football rivalries in the country.
Both teams are coming into the matchup ranked in the CFP Top 25. Touchdown Alabama’s Staff makes predictions for Alabama – Auburn:
STEPHEN M. SMITH / SENIOR REPORTER
Alabama 24 – Auburn 7
Key Insight: “Alabama must get Mac Jones comfortable early with easy passes and then take some shots when it can. Steve Sarkisian needs to establish Najee Harris early. On defense, it’s about containing the edge and limiting Auburn’s production on the perimeter. Alabama has to make tackles in space.”
Season Record: 12-3
JUSTIN SMITH / SCOUTING/RECRUITING ANALYST
Alabama 24 – Auburn 10
Key Insight: “Auburn’s defensive front is the best in the nation and it is going to be difficult for Alabama to run on them, especially early in the game. The Tide will need to be balanced on offense to keep Auburn’s defense honest and stay out of third and long situations, where Auburn can bring more pressure. Alabama’s defense has had two good weeks in terms of not giving up many points. Rattling Bo Nix early should help the Tide.”
Season Record: 13-2
PATRICK DOWD / BREAKING NEWS REPORTER
Alabama 31 – Auburn 20
Key Insight: “In the biggest game of the year Alabama’s offensive line will be key to the team’s success. If they perform as expected and keep Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson away from Mac Jones and open up holes for Najee Harris, the Crimson Tide will be a step closer hearing its name called for the fourth spot in the CFP.“
Season Record: 14-1
