After Paul Finebaum’s comments on Alabama’s dynasty coming to an end, former Florida Gators quarterback, now ESPN analyst Tim Tebow had a rebuttal for his statements.
“I just don’t agree with it. I love Paul, but I don’t agree,” said Tebow. “I still think Alabama is one of the best programs in the country.”
Tebow proceeded to detail all of the hardships the Crimson Tide faced throughout the season. Whether it was the loss to the best team in the country in LSU, losing Tua Tagovailoa for the season and going to Jordan-Hare Stadium with a backup quarterback, Alabama had a ton to overcome.
The poor officiating during the Iron Bowl was also brought up where Auburn was able to get a last-second field goal before halftime.
“A game of bad calls,” said Tebow. “I thought at the end of the first half, it was a horrendous call.”
With Alabama’s loss in the Iron Bowl, it marks the first time in the College Football Playoff’s existence where the Crimson Tide will not be one of the final four teams. This has caused quite a stir amongst the mainstream media where some like Finebaum are questioning as to whether Saban’s reign over the sport is over. But personalities like Tebow believe otherwise.
