Alabama outside linebacker Anfernee Jennings will be on his way to Mobile, AL as he becomes the third member of the team to accept his invitation to the Senior Bowl. Jennings, who was just named to the AP All-SEC First Team, will be joining Alabama safety Jared Mayden and defensive lineman Raekwon Davis.

The Dadeville, AL., native finished third on the team in tackles with 73, along with 12 tackles for loss, eight quarterback hurries, five pass breakups, one interception and a team-leading 7.5 sacks.

“Most of the guys that have been here for four and five years, they’ve had to overcome a lot of adversity, like Anfernee Jennings,” said head coach Nick Saban. “The guy had a really tough injury a few years ago and really worked hard to get back and wanted to come back this year. Of course, he didn’t think he was quite as good as he could be last year, and he’s done a fantastic job for us this year. I think he’s one of the top production guys, and I think he has created value for himself.”

During the Alabama team awards ceremony on Sunday, Jennings was named as one of the four permanent captains on the team.

Alabama still have three players on the 2020 Reeses Senior Bowl watchlist in defensive back Shyheim Carter, Trevon Diggs and offensive lineman Matt Womack.

The Reeses Senior Bowl will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile,AL
