Alabama’s newest quarterback signee, Bryce Young, has made quite an impression on Nick Saban.
Young is ranked as a 5-Star quarterback and is a product of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California. The 5-Star recruit signed a National Letter of Intent to the University of Alabama Wednesday and Saban had some good things to say about the Dual-Threat prospect. Saban said he feels Young has all of the right stuff.
“I absolutely love the guy,” Saban said. “I love his character. He has a great family. He has all of the right stuff and I think that is really important at the quarterback position.”
To close out his career at Mater Dei, Young finished his senior season with 4,528 passing yards, 58 passing touchdowns and six interceptions. Young was also 294-of-409 passing.
“We feel really good about Bryce Young,” Saban said. “The guy was outstanding as a high school player, very mature, very smart, good leader, played at a great program. He has great expectations for himself as well as what the team should accomplish.”
Alabama will get Young on campus next month as he plans to enroll early into the University of Alabama. He was one of the Tide’s 22 signees on Wednesday.
