Alabama signees, commit named to ASWA All-State Team

It was a good year for several of the Crimson Tide’s in-state signees and one of their verbal commits as they were named to the Alabama Sports Writer Association All-State team on Sunday.

Here is a look at where each one landed:

*=Signee

*Malachi Moore

7-A  1st Team All-State DB

Moore led Hewitt-Trussville in tackles this season en route to taking two interceptions back for touchdowns. The 4-Star recruit signed to the Tide on Wednesday and plans to enroll in January.

*Javion Cohen

7-A  1st Team All-State OL

Cohen was part of one of the top offenses in the state at Central-Phenix City High School. He finished the season without giving up a single sack. The Tide got his signature Wednesday.

*Demouy Kennedy

7-A  1st Team All-State ATH

Kennedy is expected to enroll early into the University of Alabama as an inside linebacker. The 4-Star was very productive at the linebacker position this season but was listed as an athlete because Theodore High School used him at running back this season as well.

*Roydell Williams

6-A1st Team All-State RB

Williams played all over the field for Hueytown this season as he spent some time at wildcat quarterback, wide receiver and defensive end on third and long.

Alabama 4-Star RB commit, Roydell Williams, scores three touchdowns in season opener.

Jayson Elijah Jones (Verbal Commit)

6-A  Honorable Mention All-State DT

At 300-pounds, Jones is one of the biggest defensive tackles in the nation. The Calera product seemed to bounce back from his leg injury in his junior season as he was able to show his ability to move and make plays this season. Jones has decided to hold off his signing until February.

*Jackson Bratton

6-A  1st Team All-State LB

Bratton had more than 100 tackles this season as he commanded the Muscle Shoals’ defense. The Alabama signee had multiple 10-tackles games and returned one kickoff for a touchdown.

Alabama LB commit, Jackson Bratton, is a monster.

*Kristian Story

1-A  1st Team All-State ATH

Story was a state-sheet stuffer this season as he ran and pass for touchdowns. He also broke the AHSAA career total yards and total touchdown records with 175 touchdowns and 13,219 yards.

Bama 4-Star ATH Commit, Kristian Story, can do it all

*Jah-Marien Latham

1-A  1st Team All-State OL

Latham was a disruptive force on the defensive side of the ball this season and Alabama does plan to play him there, but he is also a good prospect on the offensive line as his athleticism makes it hard for defensive tackles to beat him.
