“My career here has had some ups and downs,” read Leatherwood’s statement. “Things have not always gone the wat I envisioned, and because of that, I don’t want it to end now. After talking with my family and Coach Saban, I have decided to return to Alabama for my senior season.”
Leatherwood was an early enrollee for the Crimson Tide back in 2017 where he appeared in seven games at guard. He was one of the many freshmen to see significant playing time during the College Football Playoff National Championship against Georgia where he filled in for an injured Jonah Williams at left tackle.
The past two seasons Leatherwood has been the starting left tackle, protecting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for a majority of those snaps.
The Pensacola, FL native was named to the 2019 All-SEC First Team this past season.
