Donovan Green reflects on Alabama offer

Alabama is the latest school to offer highly recruited 2022 tight end, Donovan Green, out of Dickinson High School in Dickinson, Texas.

Green now holds 10 Division 1 offers. SEC schools: Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M have also offered the rising junior. Alabama’s tight end coach and Texas area recruiter informed Green of his offer, which had him feeling very happy.

“I was excited,” Green said. “Coach (Jeff) Banks called the school and he told me they were offering me. They are a great school with a great coach and a tradition of winning big.”

The Texas product currently stands at 6-4 and weighs 212 pounds. He is comfortable at lining up tight and out wide. After an impressive Junior season, Green was named First Team All-District as well as a MaxPreps Sophomore All-American.

Banks expressed to Green his route running really stood out on film.

“He liked how I could get open in man coverage and that my routes are fluent,” Green added.

It is shaping up to be a busy Spring and Summer for several talented underclassmen and Green is one of them. He will look to check out as many programs as possible in the coming months and Alabama could get a visit from him.

“I have to get with my parents and map out our visits,” Green said. “But it is one I want to make.”

The Crimson Tide has not begun to build their 2022 recruiting class as their main focus at the moment is closing out the 2020 recruiting class and building the base of their 2021 class.

The tight end position is expected to be a major part of the Tide’s next couple of classes.
