He is one of the best wide receivers in this draft class and some analysts have him projected a first-rounder come April.
A native of Montgomery, Ala., Henry Ruggs III had a stellar career at the University of Alabama – winning a Southeastern Conference Championship and a College Football Playoff National Championship in his tenure with the team.
The 6-foot, 190-pounder was one of four receivers that finished with 500-plus yards in 2019 for the Crimson Tide.
He totaled 746 yards with seven touchdowns on 40 catches, to a tune of 18.6 yards a catch.
According to Pro Football Focus, a website that dives into the analytics of both college and professional football, Ruggs gave quarterbacks the highest passer rating of anyone in the sport when he was target.
Passer rating when targeted
? Henry Ruggs III 154.4
? Antonio Gibson 148.3
? Justin Jefferson 147.9 pic.twitter.com/vMbdYORgkY— PFF Draft (@PFF_College) January 30, 2020
His rating was even higher than Justin Jefferson’s of the LSU Tigers.
Ruggs tallied 98 receptions for his career, including 24 resulting in scores.

He is someone who can provide an NFL team with an elite, vertical weapon. Ruggs’ speed is going to make him the star attraction at the NFL Scouting Combine, as he looks to run a sub 4.20 in the 40-yard dash and excel in both 3-cone drill and shuttle runs.
Also, keep all eyes on him for the gauntlet too. His smooth hands and agility down the line will be something to watch.
