Burroughs is a product of McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia. Alabama received a verbal commitment from him in October after he de-committed from the Georgia Bulldogs. Like several other, Burroughs’ recruitment had its fair share of twists and turns.
Many felt the Georgia product would stick with the Bulldogs, but Alabama never gave up their pursuit. Alabama had several factors working in their favor when they were recruiting Burroughs. The biggest factor was undoubtedly the family ties Burroughs has to the state of Alabama.
When the Tide finally got a commitment from Burroughs, he said the family feeling the Tide gave off made him feel like Tuscaloosa was the best place for him.
Burroughs joins fellow Tide defensive tackle signees, Jah-Marien Latham and Timothy Smith.
