A couple of Alabama commits are showing their athleticism on the hardwood in a big way in the AHSAA State Tournament.
Alabama’s 4-Star signees, Jah-Marien Latham and Kristian Story, helped led the Pickens County Tornadoes and the Lanett Panthers to the 1-A semifinals Monday.
Latham was named the MVP of the Northwest Region after scoring 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds for the Tornadoes. The 4-Star defensive tackle signed with the Tide during the early signing period after an all-state performance during his senior season on the gridiron. Latham also represented the state of Alabama at the 2019 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.
Story was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Southeast Region after two great performances in the first and second rounds. The 4-Star athlete had quite the senior season on the football field as he broke the AHSAA career record for total touchdowns and total yards in a career. He was also named Mr. Football for the state of Alabama and was awarded the Gatorade Player of the Year award.
Alabama got Story’s signature during the early signing period as well.
Both Story and Latham will play at the BJCC arena on opposites sides of the Brackett Monday. If they can help their respective teams win, they will square off against one another in the state championship.
The Tide will get Latham and Story on campus in the Summer.
