He may not be an on-field coach, but Alabama still got better on its staff with hiring Charlie Strong.
He joins the Crimson Tide as a defensive analyst and with his knowledge of the game, Nick Saban is looking forward to seeing the defense return to being a dominant force. Strong turned down an analyst role at Florida to join Alabama and he’ll serve as a helper to defensive coordinator, Pete Golding in terms of recognizing tendencies.
He coached the Gators to a pair of national titles in 2006 and 2008, but Strong wants to return to being on top of this decade.
