It did not take long for Nick Saban to find his guys for the strength and conditioning/sports science department.

On Tuesday, the University of Alabama made it official with David Ballou and Dr. Matt Rhea in bringing both on board.

The duo worked together at Indiana in the last two seasons and vastly improved its program.

Prior to the Hoosiers, both coaches took IMG Academy to new heights in 2015 and 2016 — especially in its speed training and injury prevention.

Ballou arrives as the Director of Sports Performance, while Rhea has the tag of Director of Performance Science. These two were hired to not only decrease injuries and get the Crimson Tide in great physical condition, but to also return its defensive style of play to be once again feared in college football.

Alabama got a two for one deal and fans are excited.

In Monday’s airing of In My Own Words, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine dives more into the hires of Ballou and Rhea and how it takes the Tide to a new level.
