With this year’s NFL Draft flooded with quarterbacks, many programs in college football are not sure of what it has at the position.

Aside from one to two teams, different schools in the Southeastern Conference can only hope it hits on the right player under center.

As he is at every spot, Nick Saban has Alabama prepared at quarterback.

Despite losing Tua Tagovailoa, he returns Mac Jones – a former four-star who enters his fourth season with the team.

A redshirt junior via Jacksonville, Fla., Jones played in 12 games last year (four starts) and filled in admirably for an injured Tagovailoa.

He accounted for 1,503 passing yards with 14 touchdowns to three interceptions.

He led Alabama’s offense to a pair of 40-plus point performances – Arkansas and Auburn – and a Citrus Bowl victory over Michigan.

While fans are excited to see Bryce Young in action, Jones has the knowledge of the system and the trust of teammates and coaches.

In Wednesday’s airing of In My Own Words, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine dives into why Jones has Alabama in a much better position at quarterback than most of college football.
