In the hustle and bustle of players signing new deals this week, a few current and former National Football League standouts were not happy with the move made by the Tennessee Titans.
After he led the league in rushing last season (1,540) and guided the franchise to the AFC Championship Game, the Titans decided to franchise tag Derrick Henry. The former Alabama running back is looking at getting $12.63 million on the tag (overthecap.com) and the team has until July 15 to work out a multi-year deal with him. Henry posted eight 100-yard performances and became the first back in NFL history to record three straight games with at least 180 yards rushing.

He pounded the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots, averaging 30 carries versus both teams.
With it tagging Henry, the Titans gave Ryan Tannehill a four-year deal worth $118 million.
Roddy White (former Falcons’ receiver) and Tyrann Mathieu (current Chiefs’ safety) both took to Twitter to voice their opinion of Tennessee’s choice.
It’s a sad day in football when Ryan Tannehill can get paid 118 million dollars to throw 30 passes in 2 playoff games but Derrick Henry doesn’t have a new deal when the world knows he was the reason they made it

Damn they paid the QB but the RB who made the QB job 75% lighter he don’t get no love. Boy it’s cold, thank God that man come from a good family.

Along with both players, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine voiced my thoughts of the move via In My Own Words on Monday.
