Good news for Alabama draft eligible players: NFL Draft to still take place in April

via: Brian Spurlock USA Today Sports

For the past few weeks now sports fans have been hit with more and more deflating news about the coronavirus and its impact on the country and sports leagues. Every major sport had been put on hiatus since NBA player Rudy Gobert had contracted the virus.

Some leagues were in the middle of their seasons, some were just about to begin and some were about to start their championship tournaments.

So in dire times like these some good news can go a long way and that is what the Alabama draft eligible players received today.

It was announced by NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell that the 2020 NFL Draft would not be changing its date.

NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero was the first to report the story.

During a meeting with the commissioners office on Thursday, Goodell said that the decision to not move the draft date was “unanimous and unequivocal.”

Below is the full memo via Adam Schefter’s Twitter.

Now players like Tua Tagovailoa, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs and Jedrick Wills, will not need to wait even longer to find out where their NFL futures will begin.
