A regular trip to Chick-fil-A after a hard workout was where 2022 4-Star running back, Jaydon Blue, got some great news Tuesday evening when he got a call from Alabama’s special teams’ coordinator and Texas area recruiter, Jeff Banks.
“I had just come from working out and coach Banks told me, that he wanted me to give him a call,” Blue said. “He was telling me about how he heard about me being the number one back in the state and that coach Saban, coach (Charles) Huff and him have watched my film and they loved it. After that, he just told me that they have offered me a scholarship to play there and he told me that Alabama is RBU and that he was looking forward to getting me on campus. He also said that he wanted me to make sure I stayed in contact with him.”

Blue is ranked as the No. 1 running back in the state of Texas, according to most recruiting sites. The Klein Cain High School product is rapidly becoming one of the more highly recruited running backs in the country as he closes in on 10 Division 1 offers. Blue said he has always felt Alabama was among the best teams in the country.
“It feels great to have an offer from them,” Blue said. “I have always thought Alabama was a top-three team and to get a call from them about an offer as a sophomore felt great.”
As a sophomore, Blue rushed for 1,600 yards and 20 touchdowns en route to being named the offensive newcomer of the year. He was also named First Team All-District and to the Academia All-District team. The sophomore currently weighs in at 209 pounds and is 5-11, which is good size for a running back at the Division 1 football level.
Blue knows of the running backs Alabama has produced recently and feels Tuscaloosa is a place he could develop at.
The Texas product also has a relationship with a couple of players, who are currently on Alabama’s rosters.
“I know a few players from there like Jaylen Waddle, who played 7v7 with Fast Houston, which I play with now and Bryce Young, who sign there as a QB,” Blue said. ” You know just being around people like waddle who currently goes to Alabama makes things interesting.”
This is the early stages of Blue’s recruitment, which means more offers will come and he will take his fair share of visits. Alabama has put themselves in the mix early by offering him as a sophomore.
