The NCAA announced the current recruiting dead period will continue through May 31 Wednesday.
Recruits are not able to visit any schools for an official or unofficial visit during a dead period. The current dead period was originally set to expire on April 15 but was pushed back due to concerns over COVID-19. The NCAA released this news via a statement.
“The Division I Council Coordination Committee and the Division II Administrative Committee extended the recruiting dead period through May 31,” the statement read. “The committees will continue to be guided by experts to determine whether the date needs to be extended.”
Alabama last hosted a recruit in early March and was able to host their second and final Junior Day on March 7. Alabama’s coaching staff is allowed to contact recruits via phone calls, text messages and written correspondence.
