When former Super Bowl-winning quarterback Trent Dilfer speaks on Tua Tagovailoa, it pays for people to listen. One of the things he said about the native Hawaiian and 2017 national champion is that he makes everyone around him feel special. Whether it’s his coaches and teammates at Alabama or every day individuals, everyone serves a purpose in his eyes.

When he is not collecting endorsement deals or prepping for the NFL Draft, Tagovailoa is providing smiles to others.

According to a report from WVTM Channel 13 (NBC affiliate) in Birmingham, Ala., the 2018 Heisman finalist made surprise video calls to employees at Lowe’s in Tuscaloosa. The purpose for the calls was to thank the ones who have been helping our country get through the global crises, known as the coronavirus pandemic.

It has been a tough adjustment for everybody; however, Tagovailoa recognized the hard work of those at Lowe’s and wanted to do something special for them.

“I just want to thank you for all you do,” Tagovailoa said to the Lowe’s team.

As he expects to get selected early on Thursday night, Tagovailoa surprises each associate with an offer to host them one of his future games next season. With him projected as a top-five to top-10 pick, the employees smiled because they know it will be an amazing opportunity to watch him play.

After the success he had with the Crimson Tide, he now readies himself for the league’s first-ever “virtual draft.”
