VIDEO: Alabama’s Christian Barmore on pace for a Quinnen Williams-like season

All Quinnen Williams needed was one year to prove he’s the best defensive tackle in college football and a first-round pick.

Prior to the 2018 season, Jonathan Allen co-signed him as the next marquee defensive lineman at Alabama and Williams proved he was correct.

This year, Christian Barmore is looking for the same confirmation.

Despite being 15 pounds heavier and two inches taller than Williams, Barmore’s quickness, pass rush moves and ability to finish plays is similar to Williams. The 6-foot-5, 310-pounder has been tirelessly working since the Citrus Bowl and Crimson Tide fans are excited to see him take on a leadership role. Like Williams, Barmore has been co-signed by Terrell Lewis and Raekwon Davis as the next superstar. Alabama head coach, Nick Saban even mentioned in interviews that he wanted to develop the former four-star as an interior pass rusher.

After posting 26 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks and five quarterback hurries in 2019, Barmore anticipates getting more action and showing NFL scouts that he is the next first-rounder for the 2021 draft. On Monday, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine touched on the importance of Barmore and what makes him special via In My Own Words
