VIDEO: Comparing Alabama’s 2020 defensive unit to its 2016 team

While the quarterback conversation of Mac Jones versus Bryce Young is exciting, many Alabama football fans are not overly concerned about the offense this season.

With it being used to seeing the defense run wild, the last two years have served as embarrassment for some. Supporters of the Crimson Tide want to feel assured that its soul-crushing defense will return to the forefront.

As good as recent groups were, people felt connected to Alabama’s 2016 group. The leadership of Jonathan Allen, Da’Ron Payne, Dalvin Tomlinson, Tim Williams, Ryan Anderson, Reuben Foster and Shaun Dion Hamilton among others had the rest of college football in utter fear.

On Monday, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine broke down this year’s defensive team via In My Own Words and discussed how they are some comparisons to the 2016 team.
