Alabama has its first player named to a 2020 award watch list and it’s Dylan Moses.
The redshirt junior was named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy list on Thursday, as he intends to produce the season at inside linebacker that was robbed from him in 2019. A native of Baton Rouge, La., Moses arrived in the Crimson Tide’s 2017 signing class as a five-star athlete.

He made the Freshman All-SEC team in 2017, totaling 30 tackles with 5.5 for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one interception. Moses assisted Alabama to capturing a College Football Playoff National Championship. As a sophomore, he led the team in total tackles (86) and collected 10 tackles for loss with 3.5 sacks. The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder was a finalist for the Butkus Award and guided Alabama’s defense to a Southeastern Conference Championship.
A season-ending knee injury in August camp kept him from playing last year; however, Moses returns with a vengeance. Named after College and Pro Football Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, the Lott IMPACT Trophy is awarded to the defensive IMPACT player of the year. The acronym stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity.
The athlete that best distributes these qualities both on and off-the-field is awarded with this honor.

Since 2004, the Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation has awarded 16 student-athletes.
Former Tide linebacker DeMeco Ryans won the honor in 2005.
