Nick Saban is continuing to make his rounds on the recruiting trail despite not being able to have any in-person contact with recruits.
Saban recently got on a Zoom call with 2021 4-Star defensive end, Monkell Goodwine.

Goodwine has Alabama in his top five along with Texas A&M, LSU, Penn State and Maryland. The Tide was the first program to host Goodwine for a visit when they got him on campus last Summer after offering him in March. The 4-Star recruit told Touchdown Alabama the visit was filled with great energy.
“I loved it,” Goodwine said. “I felt great energy from the staff and from the players. The facilities look great. I got to meet some top draft picks for the next NFL Draft and the bond with the coaches is great and just overall I enjoyed myself.”
Nick Saban also got the opportunity to speak in-depth with Goodwine during that visit after watching him camp in Tuscaloosa.
“It was good, even though we talked on the phone, he was saying that he wanted to meet me in person and see what I can bring to the field at the camp,” Goodwine said. “We talked about how he likes my film and how good I was doing in one on ones at the camp and he said I am a very athletic guy and also my burst off the line is great and if I get bigger, I will stay at the position I am playing now, but if my size frame gets smaller I will play outside linebacker. Coach Saban is great and has a great spirit and is a very calm coach and can be very energetic when it comes to football.”
In March, Goodwine expressed to yours truly, he was thinking about taking a visit to Tuscaloosa in March, but the ban on visits stop those plans from coming to fruition. He did say Alabama’s staff was in contact. It looks as if that contact has continued with Saban reaching out via a video conference.
