The influence that Chris Rogers has not only in Birmingham (Ala.), but also worldwide is starting to become second to none.
As the founder of Together Assisting People or TAP, the native Floridian and former Alabama football cornerback made an impact on his collegiate teammates Mark Ingram and Andre Smith. Rogers and Smith played together from 2006-08, while he and Ingram were on the Crimson Tide’s undefeated BCS National Championship roster in 2009.
On Saturday, both Ingram and Smith will be feeding families at Baltimore (Md.) City Community College.

During this time of the global Coronavirus pandemic, many people have been unemployed.
With the help of TAP, Ingram and Smith are providing 80,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables to residents. Leon F. Pinkett III, Councilman of Baltimore, will also be helping as each individual will be allowed two boxes per vehicle.
While the CDC Guidelines will be in place, no identification is required for those who are picking up boxes at the giveaway.
After having his third career 1,000-yard rushing season and sixth consecutive 1,000-yard campaign from scrimmage, it is awesome to see Ingram continue to care about the community that he inspires. He is the hype man for Lamar Jackson on the field, but the 2009 Heisman Trophy winner is also a man of the people.
For Smith, he protected quarterbacks at Alabama and has been a true professional in the National Football League. Now with the Ravens, he can help Jackson and is reunited with the opportunity to open holes for Ingram to run wild on defenses.

It started in Birmingham, but Rogers’ mindset of service is touching different places.
He and TAP will be helping Da’Ron Payne in the weeks to come in his move to help families in Washington, D.C.
