WATCH: Could a potential Alabama vs. BYU matchup be entertaining for fans?

Nothing has been locked in yet, but Sunday provided an interesting conversation for college football.

Since the ACC, Big Ten and Pac-12 transitioned to a conference-only schedule for this season, the University of Alabama is trying to locate a school to replace USC to start the year.

While reports of TCU and Notre Dame came up, nothing has become concrete on neither of them.

The latest name to appear in the “who wants to play Alabama sweepstakes?” is Brigham Young University, according to a report from AL.com.

BYU was a force under Bronco Mendenhall, who led the program to five 10-win seasons in 11 years and never had a losing record.

He was 99-43 overall and recruited quite well at the school too.

It was great under Mendenhall (2005-15), but Kalani Sitake is the Cougars’ head coach.

He enters his fifth season in the fall and despite getting a 29-26 upset victory over the University of Tennessee in 2019, he’s just 27-25 in four years at the helm. BYU finished with a 7-6 record in each of the last two seasons.

Alabama fans would rather have some football than none at all; however, does BYU stand as an opponent that would get fans to a television set?

On Monday, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine was on In My Own Words discussing a possible matchup between the Tide and Cougars.

It could be a fun contest, but for now we do not know.
