WATCH: David Ballou and Matt Rhea have Alabama in advanced stage of preseason practice program

Fall camp is around the corner and Alabama is getting prepared for it.

Should everything hold serve with the Southeastern Conference, in terms of having a full schedule, the Crimson Tide will be ready to contend for a national championship. It has been through voluntary workouts and mandatory sessions, but now things have ramped up.

Alabama is now in the advanced stage of the NCAA’s preseason practice plan, which allows for it to have up to six hours (per week) of walk throughs that include a football.

During this training, Nick Saban will be coaching different position groups on the practice field and catching both true freshmen and veteran players up to speed. While he’s doing that, the sports performance team of David Ballou and Dr. Matt Rhea will still get up to eight hours of weight training, speed training, conditioning, flexibility and injury prevention things done with players.

Both guys have been excited about what the players have done thus far, and Ballou has demonstrated his elite strength on the incline bench press.
