Time is of the essence for a decision on the 2020 college football season, and the presidents from the South Eastern Conference aren’t going to waste any time.
On Monday it was reported by Sports Illustrated that the SEC’s presidents and chancellors had scheduled a meeting to discuss the football season after numerous reports of a possible widespread cancellation.
The Big Ten had moved closer to calling off its season over the weekend, and now many other reports state the conference has already voted to halt the season with an official announcement arriving on Tuesday.
The report from Sports Illustrated states that a vote on canceling or moving forward with the SEC season is not necessarily expected from the upcoming meeting and the context of the call is unclear. But the swirling reports over the past several hours provide some evidence as to what the topic of conversation may be.
