On Tuesday, Nick Saban made it known he is not for politics.

As we are gearing up for a college football season and an upcoming presidential election, he stated that endorsing a political candidate is not his place. The six-time national champion is proud of the work the University of Alabama has done in creating awareness on the importance of voting. He said several voter registration education programs have been helping players with registering to vote and he is proud of the response shown by the athletes.

Even when it comes down to absentee voting, Saban is one for everybody needing to have a voice in this matter.

“It is very important for every American to use their opportunity to vote, so their voice is heard,” Saban said. “I would encourage everyone to do that, and I certainly would do that. I just think it’s important that everybody creates an awareness for the importance of being able to do that and our players have done a good job.”

While he encourages people to vote, Saban was firm on his statement about politics.

“I know it’s out there, but I can tell you we are not endorsing any candidates,” he said. “I have never endorsed a candidate nor will I ever endorse a candidate or get involved in politics in any way, shape or form. I don’t think that’s my place.”

He stands for his players and this season, he wants to end it with a national championship.

However, it is good to see Coach Saban encouraging people to vote.
