Lane Kiffin anticipates becoming the first former Nick Saban assistant to defeat the six-time national champion; however, the Tide is training on limiting the speed of the Rebels on the perimeter.

While the Southeastern Conference is monitoring the weather for Saturday, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine has some notes from the latest practice.

Notes from Tuesday’s session

-In its first season under Kiffin, the Mississippi Rebels have a top-20 scoring offense (38.5 ppg), top-5 total offense (536 ypg, 7.4 yards per play) and top-5 passing offense (381.5 ypg).

-Coach Saban and Pete Golding (Alabama’s defensive coordinator) look to prevent the explosive plays from the Rebels.
