Alabama football’s newest 5-Star commit, Ga’Quincy McKinstry is a proven winner, who is an all-around hard worker, according to his basketball and football coaches.
The 5-Star prospect chose the Crimson Tide over Auburn and LSU Sunday. McKinstry is one of the few prospects, who have the opportunity to play football and basketball at the D1 level. Pinson Valley’s head basketball coach Darrell Barber said he felt excited for McKinstry and that the Tide were getting a hard worker after the senior announced his commitment.
“It is an exciting moment for me,” Barber said. “I am really excited for this kid. He has been a hard worker on the field, on the court and in the classroom. Alabama is going to get a proven winner. He is a very humble and unselfish kid. Words can not describe how excited I am for him on this day. I have always believed in free education and for that to be the University of Alabama, that is big.”
While his football accomplishments have grasp the attention of many, his skills on the basketball court are just as special. According to Barber, he can do a little of everything.
