Alabama football midseason position grades: Linebackers

As we hit the midpoint of the 2020 SEC season, Touchdown Alabama Magazine will be releasing a series of grade reports of every position group and key coaches on the staff. In these articles, we will dive into the contributions each unit has made to the team thus far and provide a sufficient grade based on its performance to this point in the year.

Analysis

After losing Dylan Moses and Joshua McMillon to knee injuries in August camp last season, Alabama’s defense had to depend on a pair of true freshmen — Shane Lee and Christian Harris — at both inside linebacker positions to get it through the year.

With Moses and McMillon back, fans of Crimson Tide football expected a fierce defense this season.

Not having spring football was difficult and going through an unorthodox fall camp did not help much either; however, national media never offers excuses to Alabama when it is struggling.
