Alabama football offered elite 2023 athlete, Makari Vickers earlier this month.

Vickers is a product of St. John Paul II Catholic High School in Tallahassee, Florida. Offers are steadily flowing in for this sophomore as the hometown, Florida State Seminoles are the latest program to offer him, joining the likes of LSU, Georgia and more. Vickers said he found out about his offer from Alabama via FaceTime.

“My coach actually told me the day before that he had some big news and said that he would like to FaceTime me,” Vickers said. We got on FaceTime the next day and it was a three way call with one of the Alabama coaches.”

The 2023 prospect expressed he felt like his hard work was paying off when he found out he had an offer from the Tide.

I felt excited,” Vickers said. “I do not know to many sophomores getting big college looks at such a young age. I feel like my hard works is starting to pay off but I also need to continue to get better. They are a good school academically and on the sports’ side. Their football program has put many of their players in the NFL and they are shining at their position.”

Vickers has an impressive frame for his age. At 6-2 and 185 pounds, he could play on offense or defense at the next level. There is an argument to be made that defensive back is his natural position as he show great instincts at cornerback and closes on the football really well.

It is still fairly early in Vickers’ recruitment and offers will continue to stack up for him. The Crimson Tide’s coaching staff will look to build a strong relationship with him over the next two years.
