Nick Saban and Alabama take the field for matchup against LSU
Derrick E. Hingle - USA Today Sports

He has produced one undefeated season in 14 years at the University of Alabama, but Nick Saban is one who constantly wants perfection.

For the second time since 2009, the 69-year-old sees a chance to run the table in college football.

He has adjusted to the Coronavirus pandemic and despite missing the Iron Bowl, Coach Saban has his team at 9-0. The Crimson Tide are not looking ahead to its SEC Championship matchup with Florida, but the idea of going undefeated is becoming more of a possibility.

Much like its 2009 team, Alabama has encountered a lot challenges.

Whether it was locating a starting quarterback, improving on defense, having players miss games because of COVID or being without four assistant coaches versus LSU, the Tide has weathered the storm. In its five national championship seasons, Saban and company have endured adversity. Should it hoist the College Football Playoff trophy to conclude the campaign, would this be recorded as Saban’s best coaching job to date? It is definitely a question worth having a conversation on for Tide fans.

On Wednesday, yours truly of Touchdown Alabama Magazine opened a dialogue on Saban and this team via In My Own Words.

Could this be the first perfect season Alabama team since 2009?

Can this group achieve perfection? Will the Tide get its third Heisman winner?

One of these questions will be answered during the SEC title game.
