On Monday, it was announced by the SEC that Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith had been named the conference’s Special Teams Player of the Week.
Smith returned a punt for an 84-yard touchdown against Arkansas last Saturday which jumpstarted the team which eventually led to a 52-3 win.

- Totaled 111 yards across three punt returns, one of which he took back for a touchdown
- Returned his second punt of the game up the middle and outran the Arkansas defenders to the end zone for an 84-yard touchdown
- Added three receptions for 22 yards before exiting the game after halftime
