As the Alabama Crimson Tide gears up to compete for its 28th SEC Championship and 7th under Nick Saban, the Tide community is still fuming over what appeared to be a questionable ‘gator roll’ tackle by Arkansas player, Nathan Bax on Alabama wide receiver, DeVonta Smith.

When asked his thoughts on what transpired Saturday during the Tide’s 52-3 victory over the Razorbacks, Saban had this to say on the SEC Championship Game Coaches Teleconference:
“I watched the film of the game, I don’t really have any comments,” Saban said. “Smitty’s a great player and a really good competitor. You know football’s a really tough game for tough people, and he’s certainly a tough guy. He’s got to handle himself out there and he’s done a great job of doing that all year long.”
Saban has made it a point of emphasis to contain emotions and be cautious with what is put out to the public. However, it’s highly unlikely the Tide faithful will forget, nor will the players, and even Saban, which will make for an interesting matchup between the Tide and Razorbacks in Tuscaloosa next season.
