It’s been a difficult year for redshirt junior defensive lineman LaBryan Ray who’s spent a fair portion of the season on the sidelines, and he may be headed back this weekend.
During his Thursday press conference, Alabama head coach Nick Saban gave an update on Ray’s availability for the SEC Championship game against Florida.
“Well, he’s struggled a little bit with his elbow injury,” Saban said. “It’s been kind of on again, off again. He’s probably questionable for the game.”
Ray has missed a total of four games this season as he’s battled the elbow injury he suffered from practice ahead of the Georgia game. In the six games, he’s appeared in Ray has totaled 11 tackles and 0.5 sacks on the season.
In previous press conferences, Saban had referred to Ray’s injury as something that could possibly nag him for the rest of the season. It appears as if that diagnosis is true, and the Crimson Tide will need to wait and see if it will have one of its leaders on the defensive line.
