Great athletes tend to be creatures of habit, and DeVonta Smith is no different.
Even right down to the person who cuts his hair.
Ahead of the SEC Championship, CBS shared a story between Smith and his lifelong barber Vincent Sanders, who travels 4 hours every so often when Smith needs a haircut.
The two have known each other since Smith’s birth, as his grandfather and Sanders have been life long friends.
“I’m his barber for life.”

For Smith, his time with Sanders is a chance to get away from the game of football for a little and just talk about school and life.
Sander’s said during the piece that Smith’s authenticity as a person is the reason why he will drop anything he is doing if he needs a fresh cut. Even if Smith goes on to play his football career in a place like New England, Smith said he will be flying Sanders up to make sure his hair is cut right.
