It was announced on Tuesday that Alabama quarterback Mac Jones was named the SEC’s Scholar Athlete of the Year after his impressive season with the Crimson Tide.
The honor is bestowed on the student-athlete who displayed excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
On the field, Jones was one of the best quarterbacks in the country as he threw for 3,739 yards with 32 passing touchdowns and a 76.5 completion percentage.
Jones also helped Alabama get to a 10-0 regular-season record with an SEC-only schedule which has never been done in conference history. He was also integral in the Crimson Tide’s victory over Florida in the SEC Championship game.
