Alabama football recently picked up a commitment from a running back who could do a little bit of everything in Camar Wheaton.
Wheaton’s journey to becoming a five-Star recruit has been a long one. He was labeled as a running back in middle school, and it was clear early on that Wheaton was a special talent, according to Lakeview Centennial’s running back’s coach and head track & field coach Taurance Rawls.
“I have been with Camar since he was in 7th grade,” Rawls told Touchdown Alabama. “I was his middle school running back coach, and our bond started there. I knew from day one that this kid was special. He was just a little big-headed boy walking around then. We continued our relationship when he got in high school.”
Couldn’t let the night pass without thanking my position and track coach @RawlsTaurance who helped me become a better overall football player and track athlete. #LC pic.twitter.com/JM7mMggS10

Wheaton’s speed and ability to run away from the competition was on full display during his middle school career. As he transition to high school football, other parts of Wheaton’s game started to take form.
