Inspiration comes in many different forms in the world of sports. You can find it both on and off of the field and Alabama running back Najee Harris has found his muse in USA soccer star Megan Rapinoe.
During his Tuesday press conference, Harris shouted out Rapinoe when asked about his touchdown celebration where he pays tribute to her now-iconic opened armed celebration.
“Really all the stuff she stands for,” Harris said. “She’s a feminist and how the females, how women in the world gets treated unfairly and how they get paid different and different stuff than men. She stands up for all that. I like how she does that. And obviously, the social injustice that happens, she plays a part in all that.”
The clip of Harris’ comments traveled quickly with Rapinoe sending him a shoutout late Tuesday night where she shared how proud she was to hear from the Alabama running back.
