Throughout the season, the production/film department for Alabama Athletics has put together strong hype videos for the football program and each video has featured a marquee player.
Nothing changed on the latest work.
With the Crimson Tide back in the College Football Playoff, it faces Notre Dame on Friday for the Rose Bowl at AT&T Stadium.
The winner of the matchup will battle the winner of Clemson-Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl (CFP semifinal) for an opportunity to capture this year’s CFP National Championship trophy.
DeVonta Smith, a senior and Alabama’s leader at wide receiver, was the featured player in the video.
As a student of the game, the Tide’s all-time leader for career receiving yards (3,620) and touchdowns (40) sat down in the team’s film room with a pen, a notebook and a remote control.

As the voices of Nick Saban, Steve Sarkisian and Pete Golding flowed through the video, the Louisiana is steadily writing, rewinding game tape and studying footage. When he spoke to reporters this week, Sarkisian referred to Smith’s preparation as one of an NFL player. He prides himself on being prepared, and his focus is what Saban wants from everyone in the game.
Brian Kelly and the Fighting Irish bring an interesting challenge; however, the Tide is ready to meet it.
