Following the Las Vegas Raiders win over the Denver Broncos, the superstar running back for the silver and black, Josh Jacobs was arrested on a DUI charge early Monday morning.
A car crash involving Jacobs at approximately 4:42 a.m. near the McCarran Airport Connector was the cause of the police’s arrival to the site. Jacobs was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and was suspected of impairment by the police.
He was later booked for a DUI at the Clark County Detention Center.
Due to the fact Jacobs was only suspected of a DUI, his attorney said he will plead not guilty should he be charged.
“No complaint has been filed against our client and there are no blood test results to support a suggestion of impairment,” Jacobs’ attorneys said in a statement per ESPN. “We intend to enter a not guilty plea on behalf of Mr. Jacobs if he is ever charged.”
The Raiders released a statement of its own acknowledging the incident from early Monday morning.
“The Raiders are aware of the situation involving Josh Jacobs,” read the statement. “The organization takes these matters seriously and we have no further comment at this time.”
Jacobs’ head coach Jon Gruden also discussed what he could of the incident during his press conference on the same day.
“We’re just aware of it. I will say that Josh is OK and I’m not at liberty to comment on it until I get more facts,” Gruden said. “But we do have word that Josh is OK and we are looking into the matter.”
Jacobs was released from custody and will have a court appearance on March 8 per Fox 5 Vegas.
