Along with trying to finish his job at the University of Alabama, Steve Sarkisian is also putting together his offensive staff to take with him to the University of Texas.

He accepted a head coaching position with the Longhorns on last week and according to FootballScoop.com, the Broyles Award winner knows who he wants to bring to the Big 12.

Sarkisian has targeted A.J. Milwee (offensive analyst), Holman Wiggins (wide receivers’ coach) and Kyle Flood (offensive line coach).

Milwee was the former offensive coordinator at Akron, who recently accepted a play caller position at Arkansas State. As an analyst at Alabama, he has been a huge help to Sarkisian on offense.

After mentoring four wide receiver that totaled at least 500 yards in 2019 — including a pair of 1,000-yard weapons in Jerry Jeudy and DeVonta Smith — Wiggins helped Smith have a monster season at the position. The senior leads the Crimson Tide in receptions (105), receiving yards (1,641) and touchdowns (20). He also leads college football in all three categories as well.

Not only is he a strong teacher, Wiggins is a solid recruiter too.

People had early doubts about Flood to start 2019, but he quickly put those to rest.

He coached the Tide’s second Joe Moore Award-winning offensive line this season. The lineup of Alex Leatherwood, Deonte Brown, Landon Dickerson/Chris Owens, Emil Ekiyor and Evan Neal allowed only nine sacks in 12 games.

This helped Mac Jones (quarterback) lead the nation in pass efficiency (203), completion percentage (77%) and total quarterback rating (95.8).

Alabama finished second in the nation for rushing touchdowns (35), while it boasted the NCAA’s top scoring offense (48.2 ppg) and fifth-ranked total offense (535 ypg).

The Crimson Tide’s offensive line boasts 126 career starts and has produced three Heisman finalists.

Flood has also had a big hand on Alabama’s 2021 recruiting class, as he helped bring in its best offensive line talent of the Nick Saban era.

Of course, all of this is speculation for now.

Saban and company are preparing to face Ohio State next Monday for an opportunity to win a College Football Playoff National Championship.
