Waddle’s junior season was a difficult yet successful one for the speedy “rydeout”. After getting off to an impressive start, he suffered an ankle injury against Tennesee during Week 5 of the season.
Instead of accepting that his season was over, Waddle was able to work his way back and play in the national championship game against Ohio State where he caught three passes for 34 yards.
On the season Waddle recorded 28 catches for 591 yards and four touchdowns in his five full games of play.
