As inconceivable as it sounds, it has been one year since the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi and the seven other passengers who were onboard during a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California. In a year that has brought so much pain to so many people across the world, the loss of the icon that Bryant was, still takes a toll and will continue to be in people’s thoughts.
Following his death, it gave the opportunity for thousands of fans, family, media members and former teammates to share the stories and memories of Bryant they hold most dear.
From heartwarming stories of him being a father to all-time shots and plays during his basketball career, Bryant’s reach was far and wide.
One way he demonstrated his reach was when he went across sports to speak to numerous teams and programs across the country.
One of those teams was the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In August of 2018, Bryant visited Tuscaloosa and spoke to the defending national champions where he spoke about how to be an effective leader and putting others before yourself.
When it came to competition, Bryant exemplified the definition of hard work and determination for an entire generation of athletes who still live by the phrase “Mamba Mentality”.
Although the pain of losing Bryant and all of the loved ones from the accident may still remain, it’s important to remember and cherish the moments they provided while on this earth, and continue to live and love in their memory.
